Today I continued listening to the Ascent of Money audio book to and from grabbing lunch with Blake. I also picked up a wireless keyboard and super mouse, something I’ve never been all that enthralled with but works incredibly well for my current living situation.

Like many people on earth, coffee is a regular part of my life. I have this obsessive compulsive thing that I do with these standard American to-go coffee cups. I have to take the sissy mitt and align its diagonal seam over the vertical seam of the cup, opposite the drinking hole of the lid. I think I came to do this by experiencing too many dribbles through a gap if the seam of the cup aligned near the drinking hole.
Photography-wise, I was hoping to align the focus p lane of the seam with the pulley in the background, but the plane wouldn’t tilt that far at such a close focus with decent composition. Sometimes when things go wrong, I quickly finish taking the photo, flaws and all, and admit that photography is not science, it’s art. It’s an art with a science behind it, but it’s still art, and art cannot be perfect.

Developed in LR2. I miss the dark room… I used to have a lot of tricks to do cool things with shots like this. Maybe I’ll post some of my old B&W prints.

I found this bicycle horn sitting next to a bunch of computers at my work. It's amazing what ends up in random work places.

Last night I went out to Old-Time Southern Murder Hour at Slim's and saw Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit and The Pine Box Boys. I didn't get home until 2am or so, so I spent the day being lazy. Blake picked me up in the afternoon and I snapped this shot on our way to find grub.

Nothing artistic, just a souvenir. I found this in Yelp while walking down Townsend Street.

I started on this 365 project with the idea that over this year I would begin making a living from photography. 66 days in I am photographing the wall of the office where I work in IT. It highlights my doubts about my photography as I wonder where I stand in this field, why I do it, and whether or not I should continue. This evening I thought long and hard about giving up photography altogether and finding something else with more value, something I could live off of.

I didn't even get out of bed until after noon, and that was mainly just to take a picture for my 365 mornings project... This is the light that came in my window all day as I continued sleeping until 4:30. I hadn't been blatantly lazy in a long time and it felt great.

After leaving the post office I snapped this photo of me in a reflective window in the rain with a pedestrian walking by rapping lyrics from his headphones.

I spotted this door near the corner of Columbus and Stockton while waiting for the 30.
This photo is the first photo posted on Flickr that was taken with my new Canon S90, my new pocket camera that is totally freakin awesome.

This toy is sitting by the neighbor's back door, continually reminding those of us in our kitchen that with enough drugs, having a broken leg isn't so bad.

I absolutely suck at business, and when I realized that working for myself is a stupid fucking idea I took a serious look at returning to IT. I managed to do so and yesterday was my first day working back in techmologies. Here's a macro photograph of ethernet plugs plugged into an ethernet switch, tilted optics in B&W.

I got on the wrong bus while commuting to work, so I ended up walking many blocks. That's fine with me, I enjoy it, and it sends me to places I don't usually go on foot like under Highway 80.

Coincidentally, I found this artwork in a coffee shop while walking around with Blake and Scotty exactly one year ago today. I happened to be commuting by on my way to Terresina's house and stopped in to photograph it for my 365.
Note: I did not make this, and unfortunately I do not know who the artist is. Please leave a comment if you know who did it.
