Tien and I went out for a walk this morning and ended up at the garden on the Vallejo Steps looking down on this bike race sharing a coffee.

Tien and I went to Lindy in the Park this morning, met up with Lily there, and eventually met up with Lauren. The four of us went to the beach and it felt a little bit like old times. :)

Ever since I got my first pocket knife when I was 5 years old I've always had a trusty knife around me. This is a design that is completely different from any other knife I've had, but it's turning out to work pretty well. It uses disposable razor blades, so this is essentially a glorified box cutter. The great thing about it is there's no sharpening involved, and if you break the tip, who cares?

My old friend Vince has been staying in SF and I've been getting to hang out with him for the first time in years.

Tien and I woke up to our brand new, less than 24 hours old scooter laying on the sidewalk with its front left blinker and rear brake handle broken off. Somebody must have tried to wheel it away it and then dropped it when they saw the lock on the back wheel. That was lame, but it didn't stop us from scooting around SF for most of the day before meeting up with my old friend Vince later that evening. We drank beers and talked about music long into the night.

Tien and I were walking to the bus today when we passed Golden Gate Cycles. There were several motorbikes parked outside, luring us in. So, we went in and looked around and rode off on a Yamaha Vino 125. I'd had my eye on them for a while, and $1000 off was a great deal, so what the heck? We scooted around town for a bit before picking up some Golden Boy Pizza, taking it to Savoy Tivoli and having pizza and a few drinks while listening to live jazz. Tien reacted badly to something she consumed, either the pizza or the half of a martini that she drank, and felt ill so we went home. It was a great day. :)

Tien and I met up with Lily and Scott tonight, then the girls and I went to dinner at Calzone Pizza Cucina, which was lovely. They have fantastic mojito's, and it was the first time I'd seen Lily since coming back from CO.

I was taking photos of evening light on buildings while waiting for Tien when I ran into my friend Jenny as she was on her way home from work. This is one of the few times I remembered to photograph people who I run into randomly, something I'm actively trying to remember to do.

I found this little sticker in an alley on the side of a building near where I work. This looks like it was done by Flickr member x scrote.
The slow SF autumn is beginning.

Cafe Greco is still one of my favorite places in SF. They have a way with coffee that is pretty amazing. Not that I really care that much, but today I took the Yelp Dukeship.

Tien and I found this museum open today. It's two blocks from our house, really industrial looking and awesome to photograph.

Sometimes in San Francisco, busses are late. Or they just never come. Sometimes they're early. Any way you look at it, riding Muni involves walking and running. Just the other day I was heading home, but after seeing Google's prediction for the next bus being 15 minutes out, I decided to start walking along the bus line instead of just standing there. I would look back, making sure to not be too far from a bus stop without time to find one. 45 minutes later I arrived at my house, not a single bus had passed by on that route. I looked back and one was just coming up from the bottom of the hill. This is why waiting for busses in San Francisco is a bad idea. It's best to just start walking and get on that bus if it happens to come by. Great way to get in shape, and it's only $60 a month.
